Bob Phibbs discovered his aptitude for sales at an early age, when he would pick flowers out of his mother's garden and sell them door-to-door. After he completed his degree at Chapman University and attended USC, he officially began his career in retail, beginning in the trenches and working his way up to senior management positions. In 1994, Bob started his own consulting company, The Retail Doctor®, and gained national recognition by helping a struggling coffee roaster (which had to compete with a Starbucks 75 feet away) increase sales by 50 percent in one year.
Now, Bob is a nationally recognized expert on business strategy, customer service, sales, and marketing. He has consulted for some of the country's best-known retail brands, including Yamaha, Caswell-Massey, Viking, Brother, LEGO and True Value, and his works have been featured in Entrepreneur magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. When he isn't traveling around the country to speak, Bob lives in West Coxsackie, New York.
